Strabismus

A condition in which the eyes are not properly aligned with each other resulting in an inability to focus both eyes on a given point. Greek strabismos = squinting Squint, a misalignment of the two eyes. Eyesight disorder related to a defect in the parallelism of the visual axes. Early detection in children is vital in order to avoid any risk of amblyopia. There are three forms of strabismus.

Pupil

Central opening of the iris through which rays of light enter the eye. The diameter depends on ambient light. An opening in the center of the iris, of variable sizes, that regulates the amount of light that enters the eye.
